Leonard P. Sullivan, age 80, died March 18, 2013 at Jordan Hospital in Plymouth following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of the late Barbara (Peck) Sullivan. Born in Plymouth, Nov. 19, 1932, he was a son of the late Daniel and Hazel (Griffith) Sullivan. He was educated in the Plymouth school system and was a graduate of Plymouth High School. He then entered the U.S. Navy where he served proudly during the Korean War. Upon his return, Mr. Sullivan went on to further his education by graduating from Cape Cod Community College where he majored in Fire Sciences. He had worked for the town of Plymouth as a firefighter for most of his life, serving 32 years until retiring in 1987. He was a member of the American Legion Post 40, the Unity Club, the Seaside Club and the Cold Spring Athletic Club. Mr. Sullivan was the devoted father of Richard P. Sullivan and his wife Anne and Dianne M. Brennan and her husband Richard all of Plymouth. He was the cherished grandfather of Trisha M. Sullivan of Middleboro, Justin P. Brennan of Plymouth, Terrence P Sullivan of Middleboro, Catherine L. Molino of Plympton and great-grandfather of 7. The funeral Service will take place on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. the Cartmell Funeral Home, 150 Court St., Plymouth followed by interment in Vine Hills Cemetery, Plymouth.
