Obituary Condolences

Robert A. MacDonald, 83, of Warren, CT passed away peacefully at New Hospital on March 20, 2014 with his family by his side. Robert was born in Stamford, CT to Alpha John and Lucille Demerse MacDonald. Robert attended schools in Stamford and joined the US Army. He served In the Korean War from 1948-1952, at which time he received an Honorable Discharge. Robert made a career as a builder. He was an avid reader and history buff and loved to share his knowledge with all. He loved the outdoors; including skiing and hiking... he especially loved spending his time with his beloved dog, Duke, at Steep Rock Park in Washington. Duke was his constant companion for the last ten years. Besides his parents, Robert was predeceased by his daughter, Patricia Ann Phelan and his granddaughter, Crystal Lee Bailey. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Norman and Maurice and sisters, Claire and Pauline. Robert is survived by his children: Susan M. Buzaid and her husband, Jay, of Redding, CT, Barbara Thomas of Las Vegas, NV, Linda McPeek and her husband, David, of Reno, NV, Keith Mac Donald of Saugus, MA, Jennifer Vigil of Yelm, WA, and his grandchildren: Delilah Phelan , Lindsay Buzaid, Samantha Buzaid, Christopher McPeek, Elliott McPeek, Ryan McPeek, Luke Mac Donald, Kyle Mac Donald, Ian Vigil, Emily Vigil and his great granddaughter, Brooklyn Bailey. He is also survived by his brother John MacDonald of Stratford and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Roberts life will take place at a future date.
