Carlton Fleming passed away peacefully at Westminster Village, Spanish Fort, Alabama on March 22, 2013 at the age of 94. He was a native New Englander, a proud Navy veteran having served aboard the USS Decker and the USS Roger Blood in WWII. As a a new father of his first born daughter, he completed his BSME at Tufts University and went on to have a successful career in the power industry, working for the Foxboro Company for 26 years and raising 5 children with his wife Dorothy Freeman Fleming (deceased 2007) in Sharon, Mass. Retiring in 1981, he moved to Little Compton, RI and with his wife Dorothy Eggers (deceased 2006) he returned to the sea as an avid sailor. He is lovingly remembered for his appreciation and respect for the beautiful planet we live on, as well as his drive for excellence in all that he did, by his children; Deanna Overton(Bill), Linda Hamerschlag (Art), Carol Yates (Bill), Carl Fleming Jr. (Anne) and Ron Fleming; his 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and his many friends, colleagues and fellow sailors.
