Robert Carlo Sr. Obituary
Robert J. (Bob) Carlo, Sr., of Townsend, formerly of Westford and Littleton, passed away on May 21, 2012, with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Mary A. (Harvey) Carlo, with whom he celebrated 60 years of marriage. He was born in Somerville, MA, on November 20, 1928, to the late Alphonse B. and Elizabeth (Lyons) Carlo. Following graduation from Medford High School in 1946, Mr. Carlo served during WW II in the U. S. Navy aboard the USS Grand Canyon. Bob worked in the field of Lithography for Colourpicture Publishing Company of Boston for over 30 years. He then went on to teach Lithography at Nashoba Valley Technical High School in Westford. Bob enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and was an avid fan of all sports. He enjoyed watching Bostons Red Sox, Bruins, Patriots and Celtics, and especially enjoyed watching the athletic events of his children and grandchildren as their number one fan. Mr. Carlo was a lifetime member of the H. E. Fletcher Social and Athletic Club, and a member of the Stony Brook Fish and Game Association. Bob was renowned for his loyalty and generosity, but most of all, he will be remembered for his dedication to family, especially his cherished grandchildren. In addition to his loving wife, Bob leaves four children: Elizabeth Doucette and her husband Steve, of Westford; Theresa Carlo, of Lunenburg; Elaine Carlo, of Townsend; and Robert J. Carlo, Jr., of Townsend. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren: Christopher Milinazzo and his wife Marilena; Brandon Lockyer and Sascha Rosebush; Nicholas Lockyer and his wife Amy; Lauren and Stefanie Doucette; Eric, Jodie and Kimberly Gurry; Sarina Carlo and Cherisse Carlo RN; and George Lockyer, his first great-grandchild. He leaves a sister, Loretta Larivee of Somerville; a sister-in-law, Anne Baker of Westford; a brother-in-law, Brian Harvey of Florida; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was the brother of the late A. Bernard Carlo and Richard Carlo, and brother-in-law of the late Charles Harvey. Mr. Carlos Funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church; burial in Pine Grove Cemetery.
