Roger A. Gorham, 93 years of age, of North Weymouth passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at Southwood at Norwell Nursing Facility. He was born in Braintree and had been a lifelong resident of Weymouth. He served with the United States Navy during World War II. He was a Fleet Operations manager and a carrier as well as a clerk for the U.S. Post Office in Hingham for 35 years before his retirement. He was a member of the Disabled America Veterans in Braintree Post 29. He particularly enjoyed gardening and golf. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth T. (OConnell) Gorham who died in 1996. They were married December 6, 1941. He was the devoted father of Patricia E. McCone married to John J. McCone of Houghs Neck, Quincy. He was the loving grandfather of Brenda C. OConnor of North Weymouth. He was the great-grandfather of Caleb, Alannah, Declan and Logan. He was the brother of the late D. Evelyn Means formerly of Hull. He is survived by three nephews, Thomas Means of Hull and Dennis and James Means both of Weymouth. Visiting hours were held at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, 870 Broad St. (opposite the U.S. Post office in Jackson Square), Weymouth, Friday, June 28, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Prayers and remembrances offered at 1:30 p.m. Friday. Burial in the Plain Street Cemetery, Braintree, with U.S. Navy honors.
