Lifelong Winchester resident, Robert "Bob" Joseph Taylor, passed away on April 24 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born on November 14, 1932 and devoted 47 years of his life to his wife Susan (Hambly). He is survived by his three daughters, Patty Piecz and her husband Steven, Debbie Provanzano and her husband Sal, and Pam Ciaccio and her husband Stephen. He was extremely proud of each of his grandchildren: Robbie, Ben, James, Jeremy, Jason, Nicholas, Ava, and Julia. Bob had a kind word for every one and appreciated the good in all people. He welcomed each day as a gift, even though the last few years of his life he bravely battled multiple myeloma. He continued to find humor in every aspect of life and always had something quick-witted to say. Due to the skilled care he received from Dr. Bjornson and the staff of the Winchester Hospital Oncology Department, his life was extended. He looked forward each summer to the sunny days he spent on Cape Cod boating, fishing, and quahogging in Waquoit Bay. Bob worked for H.P. Hood for over 35 years and found joy in the people on his route. During the Korean War, he served in the branch of the army in Germany and was an active member in the Knights of Columbus and Veterans of Foreign War. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing sports growing up with his neighborhood friends. Bob was a part of the Winchester High 1951 State Championship football team. While his children were growing up, he always volunteered to coach. If he was not coaching, he was cheering his children on, and then later his grandchildren, no matter what activity they were involved in. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the Winchester Hospital Foundation c/o Oncology Department, 611 Main Street, Winchester, MA 01890. Calling hours are on Monday, April 29th from 4 pm until 8 pm at the Lane Funeral Home, 760 Main Street Winchester, MA.
