MICSINSZKY, Alice Barrett
It is with great sorrow that the family of Alice Barrett Micsinszky (née Mercer) announces her passing on July 4, 2014, in Amherstburg, Ontario. Wife of the late William (1970), she will be missed by her son Ron (Amherstburg) and daughter Jane Fournie (Eric, Toronto). Loving Granny to Gillian Charlotte and Mitchell Scott Fournie (Toronto). Born and raised in Edinburgh, Scotland, she became a world traveller. She was a veteran of WWII, serving with the Royal Corps of Signals, ATS, stationed at Bletchley Park. She came to Canada as a war bride, settling in Windsor, Ontario, in 1946. Alice was a life member of the Metropolitan Hospital Auxiliary and the Trillium Scottish Club. She enjoyed golf, lawn bowling, bridge, euchre and Coronation Street. She was a devoted tea drinker and a lover of films. Alice had a long and interesting life. She was the last of the "three Miss Mercers," Alice, Elizabeth (Bette) and Charlotte. The family wishes to thank the staff of Seasons for their warmth and friendship. Cremation has taken place.
