AMES, Elmer Gordon
December 13, 1928 – May 3, 2014.
Beloved husband and best friend of Ruth (nee Parish-Scott) and the late Ruby Ilene (nee Srigley) (2001). Dearest father of Sharon & Len St. Louis, Wayne & Jean Ann Ames, Patricia Gold, William & Connie Ames, Darren & Selena Ames and step-father to Bonnie Jean & Steve Lesack and Betty Anne & Dale Steed. Proud Grandpa of 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Anna Simpson. Predeceased by siblings Maud Van, Ada Wiper and Edward Ames. Elmer retired from General Motors Trim Plant in 1989 after 39 years of service. Elmer lived every day to the fullest, enjoying the beauty of his garden, word puzzles, spending time with good friends playing cards and traveling. Elmer was a dedicated member of Campbell Baptist Church. If you so desire, donations to the Hospice of Windsor or the Charity of Your Choice would be appreciated. Visitation Monday 3-5pm & 7-9pm.
