DUPUIS, Eugene
John Passed away peacefully at Southwood Lakes Extendicare on Monday, October 21, 2013, at 90 years of age. Predeceased by the love of his life, Margaret Dupuis (nee O'Brien), with whom he shared 67 years of marriage. Loving and devoted father of Jeannie Jacobs of Belleville, Barbara Poulin of LaSalle, and John Dupuis of Windsor. Best Pipi in the whole world to Michelle Dupuis of Essex, Jennifer Newman of LaSalle, Jeff Jacobs of Surrey, B.C., Danielle Dupuis of Burlington, Alison Joyce of St. Catharines, Ann Dupuis of Burlington, and Rebecca Canzio of Waterdown. Precious Great-Pipi of Jasper Drouillard, Jay Newman, Noah and Joshua Canzio, Sam, Josie, & Liam Joyce, Sophie Desrosiers, Clara & Sawyer Jacobs, and August & Vienne Cowburn. Honoured by his acquired family through the generations: Bill Jacobs, Carol Burden, Bob Poulin, Dan Drouillard, Peter, Greg, Kanna, & Jeanette Newman, Michael Canzio, Colleen Jacobs, John Joyce, Dan Cowburn, Bill Evon, and Jeanette Belleperche. Predeceased by his parents, Walter and Mary Dupuis and by his siblings Ulyses, Alfred, Lawrence, Reta, Philip, and Agnes. Cherished brother of Theresa Odette and Lloyd Dupuis. Dear brother- in-law of Shirley Dupuis and Helen Dupuis. Warmly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Long-time friend of Gwen and the late Hector Boissonnault and their children Sherril, Tom, and Cindy. Dearly missed by his devoted friends, Ron & Elaine Brunet and Roger Rocheleau. Until recently, Eugene maintained his long-standing reputation as a competitive card player with his numerous friends at the Knights of Columbus halls in River Canard and McGregor. Eugene was born and raised in Anderdon Township and served overseas in World War II, where he met and married Margaret, also a Canadian WWII veteran. Eugene was a skilled welder both professionally and in his tireless efforts to help others by taking on unique projects throughout his retirement. He was a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #594. Eugene resided at Oak Park Retirement Residence and Southwood Lakes Extendicare during his final years, where he graciously received cherished family and friends, whose visits served as loving tributes of care, compassion, and gratitude for a man who was deeply appreciated. He will live on in the many hearts that he touched. Memorial donations may be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada. Friends are invited to join Eugene's family to celebrate his long life. Visitation Friday 2-5pm, and 7-9pm. Veterans Memorial Service under the auspices of the Windsor Veteran's Memorial Service Committee Friday 3pm. Knights of Columbus Prayers Friday 8pm.
