FLEMING, Leona (nee Roe)

Passed away peacefully on March 29, 2013 at the age of 88. She was born in Windsor on September 19, 1924. She was predeceased by her parents Charles Wesley Roe and Marie Irene (nee Kelly) Roe; her beloved husband Howard Fleming; and her brother Gerald Roe. She was founder and owner of the original Cake Craft Centre in Windsor where she designed wedding cakes and taught the art of cake decorating and chocolate molding to over 3,000 students. In her later years, she was lovingly cared for by and in the home of one of her devoted daughters, Ann. She was a passionate and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her three cherished daughters, Ann Fleming, Margaret (Rudy) Busser, and Leslee (Edward) Kirk; her adored grandchildren Shannon (Lyle Ward) Tompkins, Christine Barnett, David (Catherine) Faubert, Matthew (Shannon) Tompkins, Jason Tompkins and Debra Kirk; and her 8 great-grandchildren Steel, Noah, Jonah, Leslee, Alyssa, David, Jillian and Edward. She is also survived by two sisters, Shirley Orr and Barbara O'Connor and their families. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Leona may be made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Association or to the charity of your choice. Visitation will be held at the Walter D. Kelly Life Celebration Centre (1969 Wyandotte St. E.) on Monday, April 1, 2013 from 5 - 9 pm. A celebration of Leona's life will take place on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at the funeral home at 1:00 pm. Interment to follow at Green Lawn Memorial Gardens
