HOOSON, William (Bill)
December 31, 1925 – August 23, 2014
Bill, born in Liverpool, England to Emma (nee Jones) and William George Hooson, passed away at Royal Oak LTC in Kingsville, Ontario. Loving husband of Harriet (nee Myers – 1996). Much loved father to Susan Atherton and husband Rob, and Colette Hooson and husband Paul Goyeau. Dearest grandad to Bill Atherton and wife Jill, Lindsey Gould and husband Tim, Luc Goyeau and partner Avy. Much loved by, great-grandchildren, Stella and Oliver Gould and Eric Atherton. Brother of the late Hilda O'Donnell (formerly Glendenning). Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Special uncle to Irene Williams and husband Paul and children Dougie, Daniel, Jordan and Conor. Brother-in-law of Ena, Jimmy, Edna, Peter, Dolly, Audrey and the late Betty and Willy. Good friend of the late Dorren and Rob Alderson and Margaret Parry-Watham (Kingsville). Bill served in the Royal Navy during W.W. 2, joining up at the age of 16. He served in the D-Day landings; Burma, India, Italy and Atlantic with COPRA. Bill was a Merchant Seaman from 1948 to 1963 and saw much of the world. He was employed at the BICC in Prescot, Merseyside until he emigrated with Harriet in 1986 to be with his daughters in Canada. At which time he joined Zehrs in Kingsville until retirement. His family wish to thank both Kingsville Court and Chartwell Royal Oak LTC staff for their excellent care and compassion shown to Bill over the last years of his life. We know he loved you as much as you loved him. Bill was a lifelong Liverpool Football Club Supporter and had no doubt that this would be the year we win the League! YNWA Cremation has taken place in Windsor. Friends will be received for a time of Visitation at the

from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26, 2014. A Memorial Funeral Service will be held from the funeral home on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Legion or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Condolences may be left at
