He served his country in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict, United Nations, China services, in Hawaii, Navy Occurrence Service in the medical area, and National defense on the U.S.S. Randolph.

Zip loved working on cars, bowling, and playing baseball for the tavern league. In later years he enjoyed camping with family and friends, deer hunting, snowmobiling, watching the Packers play, and watching NASCAR races.

Zip is survived by his wife Sandy; daughter Michelle (Mike) Reber; son Monty (Kelly) Reinicke; and the loves of his life, his grandchildren: Mariah Reber, Rhett Reinicke and Taylor Reinicke; brothers and sisters: Don (Alice) Reinicke, Stone Lake, WI; Beverly (Tim) Corbin, Alabama; Ken Reinicke, Alabama and Alaska; Betty (Rolf) Kroeber, DePere, WI and Arizona; Barbara (Pat) Mahoney, Seal Beach California, along with many nieces and nephews.
