Spindler, James Harold
James Harold Spindler, 70, of Edgar WI, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at his home with his family by his side.
Jim was born in Marshfield WI, Wood County, on March 14, 1943. He was the son of Harold A. "Bud" and Lela M (Schnelle) Spindler. He was a 1961 graduate of Columbus High School in Marshfield, WI. After an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army in 1963, Jim entered self-employment. He owned the Spindler Bridge Bar in Stratford WI, and had an excavation business. He expanded his services to field tiling, pump installation, well witching, manure pits, ponds and septic systems. He enjoyed being of service to the rural community. Jim retired in July 2013 after being diagnosed with a terminal illness. Jim enjoyed the outdoors; he loved to hunt and fish. He also enjoyed playing sheepshead with his friends. He was an avid fan of the Packers and the Badgers. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of 20 years, Linda; three stepdaughters, Shelly (adopted Spindler) of Marshfield; Rachel (Joe) Drexler of Edgar; Jessica Peters of Milwaukee; two grandchildren, Drey and Peyton Drexler; brothers, Dan (Kim) Spindler of Athens; Dennis (Carla) Spindler of Stratford; sisters, Joan (Dean) Keding of Stratford; Joy (John) Truetel of Mosinee; Julene (Lonnie) Roeher of Cochran; Jeri (Dick) Kincaid of Stratford; Bev Guensburg of Marshfield; sister-in-law, Paulette of Stratford; and many nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents "Bud" and Lela; sisters, Jeane, Mary and Janet; brothers, Jack and Joseph and nephew, Tim "Timmer".
Visitation and Memorial Service will be held at Community Bible Church, located at 100 Fieldcrest Dr. on the corner of HWY 97 and Fieldcrest Dr., Stratford WI 54484, on Tuesday October 29th, 2013. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm - 6:00pm and Memorial Service at 6:00 pm with a meal to follow.
