Joseph Henry Belsha, 81, of the town of Rome, formerly of Milwaukee, died Friday, May 11, 2012, at his home following a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). He was the beloved husband and friend of Beverly Belsha of 58 years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Friendship, with the Rev. James P. McNamee officiating. Visitation will be from noon until the time of Mass on Tuesday at the church.

Cremation will follow the traditional service with private interment at the Dellwood Cemetery.

Joseph was born in 1930 in Milwaukee to Louis and Harriet L. Belsha. He is a U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division veteran.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Honor Flight Program.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Harriet L. Belsha; and his beloved son, Richard Jeffrey Belsha (1999).

Survivors include his beloved wife of 58 years, Beverly (nee Halverson) Belsha of the town of Rome; four sons, Joseph (Soon-Hee) Belsha Jr. of Maple Valley, Wash., Steven (Arlene) Belsha of Abilene, Texas, David (Lynne) Belsha of Arkdale and John (Cheryl) Belsha of Milwaukee; a daughter, Renee Belsha of Wisconsin Rapids; a brother, Louis (Mary) Belsha Jr. of Milwaukee; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
