A Memorial Service for Jayne Rochelle Lauten-Borg, 74, will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the Emerson Unitarian Universalist Church, 1900 Bering Drive in Houston, TX. While living these past two years in Hawaii, Jayne previously lived in Houston, the Woodlands area, and Conroe, TX. Jayne Rochelle Lautenschlager was born in Orchard, Nebraska on July 31, 1938 and graduated from Fort Dodge High School in Fort Dodge, Iowa in 1956. She was married to John Knupp (divorced) of Conroe, TX and Warren "Jess" Borg (deceased), an ordained Episcopal priest and founding headmaster of the Episcopal High School in Bellaire, Texas. She spent her career as a homemaker, artist, art therapist, special education teacher and academic tutor. Following a long battle with cancer, Jayne Lauten-Borg passed away on February 1, 2013 at the home she shared with her daughter in Kaneohe, HI.
Jayne is survived by her four children (Christine Knupp Sorensen of Kaneohe, HI; Dianne Empringham of Conroe, TX; Daniel Knupp of San Antonio, TX; and Emery Meadows of Houston, TX), five granddaughters (Kathryn Sorensen of Katy, TX; Laura Empringham of San Leon, TX; Lisa Knupp of Houston, TX; Katie Empringham of Conroe, TX; and Isabel Meadows of Houston, TX), three grandsons (Michael Sorensen of Kaneohe, HI; Andrew Sorensen of Honolulu, HI; and David Knupp of Houston, TX), her great-grandson (Dathan Empringham of San Leon, TX), her sister (Sharon Laird of Orange City, IA) and her brothers (Dennis Lautenschlager of Colorado Springs, CO and Steven Lautenschlager of Denver, CO). She is also survived by daughter-in-law Carol Knupp of Houston, TX, her sons-in-law (Scott Empringham of Conroe, TX and Carl Meadows of Houston, TX), and by numerous extended family members and friends.
