Gerald LaBarre Obituary

SARASOTA, FL - Gerald R. LaBarre, of Sarasota, Fl., passed away on January 5, 2015. He was born in Woonsocket, RI on July 5, 1931. Son of the late Armand LaBarre and Edna Boisseau.
Survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Therese S. Castonguay. Preceded in death by a son, Gerald LaBarre, Jr.. Survived by his children, Michelle Pennock, her husband John, of Ecuador, South America, Suzanne Robinson, and Michael LaBarre of Florida, 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Survived by his brother, A. Robert LaBarre, his wife Nancy of Greenville, RI, and his sister Claire Lachance, her husband Charles of North Smithfield, RI.
Gerald served in the United States Air Force from 1951 until honorably discharged as Senior Master Sergeant on January 1,1975. His second career was for Bechtel Corp. during construction of the Alaska Pipeline and then for Alyeska Pipeline Service Company (operating pipeline for the Alaska Pipeline) until retiring on October 31, 1992.
A memorial mass, celebrating his life, will be held on Saturday, February 7th at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church in Slatersville, RI. Family and friends are invited and welcome to attend.
