Harold David Rose

SHAWNEE: Harold David Rose, 94, of Shawnee, Ohio died at 3:04am on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Genesis Hospice, Morrison House, Zanesville, Ohio.

Born August 20, 1920 in Lobelia, West Virginia to the late David Crocket and Nancy Rebecca Lewis Rose.

Mr. Rose was a United States Army Veteran of WW II; where he was a Staff Sargent in Company H, 87th Infantry , 10th Mt. Division, he received a bronze star and a purple heart; he was also United Pentecostal Minister, having served the American Hill Pentecostal Church in Elkins, West Virginia and several other churches in Ohio.

Survived by his wife, Dorothy E. Rose of the home; son, Floyd Neil Rose; daughter, Judith Darlene Rose; two step-daughters, Cathy Tubuagh and Debbie Mount; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, preceded in death by a son, David Lee Rose; 11 brothers and sisters.

Calling hours will be held from 2-4pm & 6-8pm with American Legion services at 7:30pm on Monday, September 1, 2014 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio. Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial will be in New Lexington Cemetery with graveside military services by John Tague Post #188, American Legion of New Lexington, OH.
