Robert E. Hinkle
ZANESVILLE: Robert E. Hinkle, age 73, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away on May 9, 2012 after an extended illness. He was born July 29, 1938, to the late Frank Pearl and Mary Ocie Hinkle at Rose Farm, Ohio.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jo Ann Hinkle; son, Randall S. (Kathy) Hinkle of Heath; stepson, Michael P. Dorsey of Roseville; mother-in-law, Janice Allen Arcuri; grandson, Nathan Hinkle; a brother-in-law, Olaf "Doc" Harris of Crooksville; eigh step-grandchildren; and several great grandchildren; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was a 1956 graduate of York High School, Deavertown, Ohio. He was an Engineer and Farmer by profession. He was retired from AEP at Conesville and also Ohio Ferro Alloys at Philo. He was a member of The Meadow Farm United Methodist Church, a Past District Deputy of the Grand Lodge of F & A M of Ohio, a Past Master of Masonic Doric Lodge 172, Member of Jackson Lodge 85 of Brownsville, York Rite Bodies of New Lexington, Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge, Aladdin Shrine of Columbus, Zavi Shrine Club of Zanesville, Amrou Grotto 45 of Zanesville, Life member of VFW 9090 of Crooksville, American Legion Post 2020 of Crooksville, member of the Elks Lodge 114 of Zanesville, IBEW Local 1105, and the Mac-Pack Travel Chapter. He also served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era.
Preceding him in death were his parents; sisters, Helen Harris and Maxine Hinkle; and twin brother, Roger Hinkle.
Keeping with Mr. Hinkle's wishes, a caring cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Meadow Farm Church, 6015 Coopermill Road, Zanesville, Ohio on Sunday May 20, 2012 at 1:00 P.M.
