Eckert, Jacob W.  
On December 18, 2014, Jacob Wm. Eckert, beloved husband of Rowean E. Eckert (nee Thompson). He was married to his wife for 54 years and lived in Finksburg, Md. He was 79. He was predeceased by his mother Elizabeth Schmeltzer (nee Dumeier) and his step-father Frederick Schmeltzer. His father Lewis Eckert died in 1936. In addition to his wife he is survived by a brother-in-law Palmer Thompson and wife Carole of Stewartstown, Pa. and sister-in-law Emily Pitt and husband Robert of Baltimore, Md.; godsons Robert Pitt, Jr. of Havre de Grace, Md. and Mark Bell; niece Donna Riddle and husband Todd of Ca.; nephew Gerald Thompson and wife Jennifer of Ca. and niece Laura Thompson of Ca.; cherished friends Alan Carson of Baldwin, Md. and David Carson of Baltimore, Md. and many life-long friends. He graduated from Patterson Park High School and retired in good standing at the age of 21 from the Order of DeMolay. He received an Honorable Discharge from the 175th Infantry 29th Division of the Maryland National Guard. The Baltimore native retired from construction and went on to own and operate Comic Book Kingdom, a collectable and comic book store on Harford Rd. for 28 years. A funeral service will be held at the family owned Duda-Ruck Funeral Home of Dundalk, Inc., 7922 Wise Ave. on Monday at 10 AM. Interment Oak Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 3-5 and 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157-5629.

Edelstein, Alan P.  
On December 20, 2014, Alan P. Edelstein, beloved husband of the late Judith Edelstein (nee Jacobs), adored father of Robert (Dorothy) Edelstein, and Howard Edelstein; cherished step-brother of Bernice Brafman, and the late Lee Klavans; loving grandfather of Judith Leah Edelstein; dear friend of Elizabeth Miller. Funeral services and interment will be held at Oheb Shalom Memorial Park - Berrymans Lane on Monday, December 22, at 3 pm. Please omit flowers. Eickelberg, William Thomson  
William Thomson Eickelberg, retired president of Peerless Chemical Company, died on December 13, 2014 at his home in Towson, Maryland of cardiovascular disease. He was 92 years old. A former chemist and sales representative for the explosives department of the E. I. DuPont Company in New Jersey and New England, he spent 33 years in Baltimore until retiring in 1988. The Baltimore native was a graduate of Catonsville High School in 1940 and the Virginia Military Institute, Class of 1944. During World War II, he served in the Army field artillery as an enlisted man and officer in North Carolina, Texas and overseas in the Philippines and Japan from 1943 until 1946. Since his retirement in 1988, he was an active volunteer with Meals on Wheels, a member of the Baltimore Civil War Round Table, the Virginians of Maryland, the Virginia Military Institute (VMI) Alumni Association, Sharon Lodge # 182 AF & AM, the Maryland Historical Society, and the Johns Hopkins Club. He also served many years on the Finance Committee of the Grace United Methodist Church in Baltimore. A small memorial service was held for Mr. Eickelberg on December 17, 2014 in the Towson Ruck Funeral Home Chapel. He is survived by his wife, the former Chrystal L. Rutter of Portsmouth, VA, two stepdaughters, Georgia S. Viswanathan of Washington, DC and Lindy N. Quesenbery of Charleston, SC, a stepson, William A. Niermann, Jr. of Timonium, MD and three grandchildren. Contributions may be made to the VMI Foundation, Lexington, VA.

On December 20, 2014, David Michael Engler, beloved husband of Ann Patricia Engler (nee Buffington); loving father of D. Michael Engler, Catherine A. Evans, Susan M. Smoot, Joanne P. Lanzo, MD., and Peter J. Engler; dear grandfather of Nicholas Desoto, Kate Evans, Thomas Smoot, Daniel Smoot, Erin Lanzo, Lauren Lanzo, Kerry Lanzo, Samantha Engler, and Sean Engler. Also survuived by 20 nieces and nephews including godchildren Louise Aquila and John Maguire. Interment private. Memorial service to be arranged for later date.
