George F. Eckert, Jr., 71, of Bethany Beach, DE passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2015. George Eckert was a dedicated Baltimore City Police Officer for 35 years. He is survived by his wife, Susan, children and grand-children. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, May 29th at 11:00 AM, friends may call after 10:30 AM for a visitation before the service. GILLIECE, Gregory James  
Suddenly on May 20, 2015, "Gregg" of Ellicott City, beloved husband of Sandra E. (nee Cheatwood); devoted father of Curtis James; loving step-father of Amanda Wooten (nee Trout); devoted brother of Courtney Jarvis (Eric), Geoff Gilliece (Robin), and Whitney Green (Michael); cherished uncle and step-grandfather. Gregg was born on January 1st - the "First Baby of the New Year" in 1966, the son of Marilyn and the late Owen J. Gilliece, Jr. Family and friends will honor Gregg's life at HARRY H. WITZKE'S FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 4112 Old Columbia Pike, Ellicott City on Wednesday, 4-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10am on Thursday at Church of the Resurrection in Ellicott City. Interment Crest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Gregg. Checks should be made out to the American Cancer Society and mailed to Sherri Kidwiler at 51 Barbary Ct., Charles Town, WV 25414 - a charity dear to Gregg's heart, as his maternal grandmother succumbed to the disease and his sister-in-law is a survivor.

Lauer, Gary Steven  
Gary Steven Lauer, 62, died at Carroll Hospital Center on Thursday, May 21, 2015. Born on September 27, 1952, he was the son of the late Jack and Gertrude (Thomas) Lauer. He was the fiancé of Leah Potts of Hampstead. Viewings will be held at the family-owned Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 York Rd. (Beltway Exit 26) from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm where a funeral service will begin at 8pm. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Gary was employed for 13 years at David S. Brown Enterprises, Owing Mills, as a Property Manager. He enjoyed following the Orioles, Ravens, and was a fan of NASCAR. Gary also enjoyed gardening, riding his Harley, and cherished time spent with his grandchildren. In addition to his fiancée, he is survived by his sister, Jacqueline Heath; a daughter, Elizabeth Russ and her husband, James; three grandchildren, Ahnika, Nicholas, and Aubrey; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Taylor Shorb. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Feathers, Scales and Tails, 310 Woodland Rd., Suite 3, Westminster, MD 21157.

Miller, Florence  
Funeral Mass will be held for Mrs. Florence "Flo" Wilz Miller, age 92, at 10:30am, Thurs., May 28, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 6853 South Prince Street, Littleton, CO. A Reception will be held downstairs immediately following mass. Burial will follow at 1:30pm at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Blvd, Denver, CO. Visitation will be held at Drinkwine Family Mortuary, 999 W. Littleton Blvd., Littleton, CO from 3-7pm on Wed., May 27, with a rosary to be said at 5:30pm. Flo was born October 13, 1922 to Sebastian Ambrose and Mary Margaret Dieter Wilz in Baltimore, MD. She passed away peacefully on May 21, 2015. Flo graduated from Elizabeth Seton High School in Baltimore in 1940 and from Arapahoe Community College in Littleton in 1988 with an Associates degree in Word Processing. On June 25, 1949, she married John Herbert "Herb" Miller, a WWII Army Air Corps veteran and a graduate of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, who worked as a Mechanical/Structural engineer for the Glenn L. Martin Company, later Martin Marietta, later Lockheed Martin for 48 years. In 1970, Flo and Herb moved from Baltimore to Littleton via a transfer with Martin Marietta. Flo had a passion and love for Littleton and the beauty of the mountain view which she enjoyed daily from her backyard deck. They were long time members of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, her husband of 50 years, Herb, and one daughter Mary Suzanne Miller. She is survived by four sons Joseph D. Miller and wife, Trudy of Picayune, MS, Alan F. Miller of Las Vegas, NV, Guy A. Miller of Littleton and Craig E. Miller of Littleton; two daughters, Yvonne Miskech and husband, Joe of Las Vegas, NV, and Helen L. Miller of Cary, NC; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a host of other relatives and many friends. Flowers will be accepted, or donations can be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org

Rinehart, Joseph R.  
Joseph Robert Rinehart passed away on May 21, 2015 in York PA. He was born on October 17, 1922 in Bel Air, MD. Beloved son of the late Henry and Elizabeth Rinehart. Loving brother to Joseph Jr., William, Patricia, Connie and David. He was a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne from 19942-1945. A U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of WWII having fought at the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of Painters Union #1 in Baltimore since 1966. He worked until the age of 84. He loved to work and was a sports fan and hunter. He lived the last year of his life at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home in York. Services and burial will be private. John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc. York PA is in charge of arrangements.
