On June 28, 2016 Lloyd Felton "Tommy" Thompson passed away peacefully. An admired musician, cherished friend, devoted husband to the late Reda Geis-Thompson and beloved father; Tommy was born to Lloyd and Ruth Thompson on February 21, 1947. Tommy is survived by his daughters Tracy Lloyd and Casey Thompson, son Ryan Thompson, grandchildren Gabriel and Nicholas Lloyd and brothers Wayne and Mark Thompson. Stephen Carroll, age 62, beloved husband of Trish Carroll (nee Winkler) loving brother of Regina (Bill) Dignan, Jim (Joyce) Carroll, Larry (Louise) and Bob Carroll. Furlong, Walter Joseph  
On June 22, 2016, Walter Joseph Furlong-Age 92; beloved husband of Joan Furlong (nee Petrlik), and the late Dorothy Furlong (nee Herrlich) the mother of his six children. Devoted father of Barbara Furlong, Stephen (Leslie) Furlong, Susan Looper, Cynthia (John) Smith, Joan (Phil) Fridley, Neale (Maureen) Furlong. Dear brother of Marie Wall and Anne (Bud) Burke. Walter has twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Walter was proud of his service as a Master Sergeant in the 8th Air Force during WWII. He was a turret gunner on B-17's and B-24's. He flew on forty missions in the European Theater out of England and Lecce Italy. He was shot down on four occasions, surviving all. On his last mission, he was shot down over enemy territory and was captured and spent the last months of the war as a POW. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross with 2 oak leaf clusters, the Air Medal with three clusters, the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Presidential Unit Citation, two Purple Hearts, and the POW Medal. Walter worked for BG&E as a crew foreman and retired in 1986 after 42 years of service. He was actively involved at the Parkville American Legion Post 183 for many years. He was also a big Ravens fan. Family and friends will honor Walter's life at Evans Funeral Chapel 8800 Harford Rd 21234 in Parkville on July 8th at 11AM. Hanlon, Thomas Everett  
Thomas Everett Hanlon, PhD, of Crownsville, MD died June 27,2016 at the Anne Arundel Medical Center, Annapolis MD. He was born June 19,1926 to Thomas J. and Pearl L. Hanlon. He graduated from Salesianum High School in Wilmington, DE before completing a Bachelors and a PhD in Psychology from Catholic University in Washington, DC. Dr. Hanlon worked at Spring Grove State Hospital in Catonsville and Friends Research Institute in Catonsville and Easton, MD. He was a member of the Faculty of the University of Maryland Medical School as well as being a member of the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology. Early in his career Dr. Hanlon was involved in conducting clinical psychopharmacological trials involving the treatment of schizophrenia and other seriously ill psychiatric patients. He participated in early treatment evaluation studies of the effectiveness of narcotic antagonists in the treatment of heroin drug addiction. Dr. Hanlon served as a mentor to professional staff at Friends Research Institute on the analysis, interpretation, and write up of prevention research findings. Dr. Hanlon served in the Navy as a medical corpsman during World War II and Korea. Preceded in death by his sisters Pearl Sullivan, Florence Redmond, and Edna Hanlon. He is survived by his children Carol H. Pontzer, Cheryl D. Maivelett, and Thomas R. Hanlon; long time companion Edwina W. Wilkinson; grandchildren Nicholas J. Pontzer, Emily A. Nizialek, Peter J. Pontzer, Jordan A. Maivelett, Hanlon I. Maivelett, Jessica B. Maivelett, Katie B. Maivelett, Paige R. Maivelett, Amanda L. Hanlon and Thomas "Maverick" Hanlon; 4 great grandchildren; and sister Elaine Rubini. Dr. Hanlon lived a long 90 year life and enjoyed exercise, outdoor walks, reading and classical music. He led a good, healthy, and religious life and was a wise and truly compassionate man. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday June 30, 2016 at 10am at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church, 1070 Cecil Ave., Millersville, MD 21108. Inurnment to follow in the Church Columbarium.
