Adams, Mary Pauline Chapman, Age 68 of Mechanicsville, Maryland.

Mary Pauline Chapman Adams departed this life on Monday, October 16, 2006 at Civista Medical Center in La Plata, Maryland after a long illness.

Pauline was born on January 25, 1938 in Dentsville, Maryland to the late Paul Chapman, Sr. and the late Agnes L. Shade Chapman.

She was educated in the Charles County School System.

Pauline married James A. (Dickey) Adams, Sr. on November 2, 1957. Out of their union three children were born.

She worked as a teacher’s aide for a couple of years at White Marsh Elementary School in Mechanicsville, Maryland; occasionally she was a babysitter, but most of her time was devoted to her family and friends.

Her hobbies were reading and embroidering. However, her favorite hobby was TALKING.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband: James A. Adams, Sr.; daughter: Janet M. Adams; brother-in-law: Guynel Tolson; nieces: Phyllis and Brandy Savoy and nephews: Levi Holly and Lawrence Dyson II.

Pauline is survived by her children: Brigette A. Walker and James A. Adams, Jr.; granddaughter: Ashley Marie; son-in-law: Charles Walker; daughter-in-law: Rita Adams; six sisters: Lucille Tolson, Mary Catherine Holly, Lilly Savoy, Alice Savoy, Mary Aline Dyson and Dorothy Neal; two brothers: Leroy and Paul Chapman, Jr.; five brothers-in-law: Albert Holly, Harry Savoy, William Savoy, Lawrence Dyson and Charles Neal; two sisters-in-law: Mary Adams Washington and Clara Chapman; one aunt: Nora Shade Glenn; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Her Viewing will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2006 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 13715 Notre Dame Place, Bryantown, Maryland from 10:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial, 12 noon. Her Interment will be in the Church Cemetery. Arrangements by Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., Pomonkey, Maryland.
