Gary Elton Obituary
Gary George Elton passed away to be with our Good Lord on Sunday, April 2, 2017.
He was born August 24, 1936, the middle son of Norwegian parents, Rudy Elton and Helen Lee. He served in the US Air Force as a specialist in the Czechoslovakian language. He was a copy editor; a computer software engineer for Honeywell; a professional jazz / classical trumpet player.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Elton who passed away in 2015.
Gary is survived by his wife, Mary Anne D'Arcangelis; his children: Daniel Sela D'Arcangelis-Elton, Timothy Alexander Elton, and Rachael Cody D'Arcangelis-Elton; his brother, Ronald Elton (Jane) of Madison, WI.
A Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 25, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Chapel of Albuquerque, 4001 Osuna Rd NE, Albuquerque, NM. Interment will be Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 12:45 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N Guadalupe St, Santa Fe, NM.

I met Gary in New York City in the early 1960s, just after he retired from the Air Force. We were great friends for years. I´m thinking of him now as I watch the film Young Man with a Horn. I miss you, Gary.

I was so sorry to hear this sad news, Mary Ann. Gary was a kind and warm man; and such a FINE musician. I had heard of his serious struggles with cancer years ago, so was delighted to see him at a gig a couple (three?) years ago. I'm happy I had that opportunity to reconnect with him while he was still with us. Thinking of you and your family a lot at this difficult time. -Bruce Dalby
