Gary Repetto of Chandler, AZ. A proud member of the University of New Mexico's 3 WAC conference football team championships and also a baseball letterman, passed away on October 30, 2016. Gary grew up in Chicago not far from Wrigley Field. Learning sports on his own in the tough city parks, he went on to Weber High School where he was a member of the city championship team, playing in front of 83,750 fans at Soldier Field. After graduating from UNM he coached high school and then at his alma mater, UNM. Then, following a role as Director of the Young America Football League, Gary began a career as a corporate recruiter, first with Excel Staffing for 18 years, and then Northrop Grumman, retiring in 2015 after 19 years. Besides enjoying time with his wonderful family, Gary took up a second career, a love of writing fiction. In addition to several short stories, 2 novels have been published over the past year, Prairie Fire and Afraid of the Dark.
Gary was preceded in death by his father (William), mother (Maurine) and son (Christopher). He is survived by his loving wife, Antoinette Repetto and daughters, Danette Nelson of Illinois (Ed), Cheryl Simmons of Arizona (Brian), brother David Repetto of Michigan (Gail Isaacson), Brother-in-laws, Pat Dunworth (Sue), Mike Dunworth (Nancy).
