Mrs. Mary Jane (Guyer) Cool, 90, of Anchorage, Alaska, and formerly of Waynesboro, PA, passed away July 30, 2014 at Anchorage Pioneer Home. Born June 8, 1924 in Chambersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Lester B. and Ruth V. (Coy) Guyer. She married Mark L. Cool August 2, 1947 in the United Methodist Church, Chambersburg, PA. They lived in the Waynesboro area from 1981 until 1998. She then lived in Hollidaysburg, Pa. Mrs. Cool moved to Fairbanks, Alaska in 2007. Mr. Cool passed away in 2001 after an extended illness. She graduated from Chambersburg High School in 1942 and went to work at the Treasury Department, Washington D.C. from 1942 to 1944; Letterkenny Army Depot from 1944 to 1972, and retired from government service in 1972. She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waynesboro; a charter member in the V.F.W. Auxiliary to Post 695, Waynesboro, also past president of the auxiliary; a member of the Waynesboro and Chambersburg B.P.O.E. Auxiliaries; Member of the local AARP and the South Chapter AARP #2977. She is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Marie Mireles, and her husband Lee, Fairbanks, Alaska; her son, Jay Mark Cool of Hedgesville, WV; a sister, Pauline (Lader) Englerth, ; six grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by:her husband Mark, her brother Jerry Smith Guyer and a grandson Benjamin Michael Cool. Funeral services will be at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St. Waynesboro in August. Burial will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are with Janssen Funeral Homes.
