We are all travelers from birth to death. We travel between eternities. Pamela traveled more rapidly and farther than most. Her journey was completed in 47 years. Born in Mankato, MN to Marilyn and Dean Budde, Pamela graduated from the University of Wisconsin - LaCrosse. Her major employment in Alaska included Coopers & Lybrand and Tryck Nyman Hayes Engineering. Subsequently, Pam launched a very successful venture, Cushman Consulting, which specialized in technical proposal writing. From countless jobs over time she gleaned invaluable experience and wonderful contacts who were supportive in this endeavor. Pam's brilliant mind and photographic memory served her well. She read an average of three paperbacks per week. She possessed great courage and exhibited boundless positive energy and fearless self expression. An avid outdoors person, Pam always caught the largest fish. Camping, hiking and gatherings around a campfire were favorites. While her artistic and musical talents were evident, her consuming passions were travel and golf, often combined. Planning for future events and activities were Pam's forte. The interesting people she met in other cultures spurred her on to extensive overseas adventures. Pam's marriage to David Cushman in 1994 in Chugiak became a source of great joy, sustenance and support. Instinctively, Pam brought people together. She was always looking forward to meeting new friends while cherishing those she had. It was Pam's good fortune to be surrounded by the highest quality fun loving friends. Survived by husband, Dave Cushman, Chugiak; father, Dean Budde, MN; mother , Marilyn Budde (Bill Vogel), MN; brothers, Lee Budde (Jennifer), Big Lake, Bradley Budde, Kodiak; nephews, August, Martin and Leo Budde. Pam's last journey was through rapidly-growing cancer. At the end of the day, one is struck by her brilliance and loving spirit. No one will ever think of Pam without her radiant smile.
A Celebration of Life will occur at Moose Run Golf Course, 27000 Arctic Valley Road at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 13th. Memorial contributions in Pam's honor may be made to The First Tee of Alaska, a program for youth development through the game of golf. Contact them at www.thefirstteealaska.org or The First Tee of Alaska, Box 143366 Anchorage, AK 99514.

We first met Pam 12 years ago after Dave hired Matt. They invited us over for dinner several times and we always looked forward to both the good company and the delicious food they prepared! Pam generously gave of her time and energy by decorating & cooking/baking for a baby shower for our first born at their home. Lisa could always count on Pam for awesome advice on restuarants and hotels from Homer to Hawaii. Dave, we think of you often and pray that the joy of knowing Pam and the incredible person she was keeps you going through this time of sadness. Matt & Lisa Sanders

Pam, to know you was to love you. You were a very accepting person who brightened every outdoor event we ever shared together. We'll always have the Corona incident of 2000, I bear the scar, and every time I see it, I'll think of you! Thanks for the memories and your unmatched personality.
