Davon Pierre Mosley, Sr., 20, passed away Friday, April 4, 2014 in Anchorage, Alaska. A Celebration of Life will be held 2 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2014 at the Anchorage Funeral Home, 1800 Dare Ave. in Anchorage. Elder Michael L. Sweet, Sr. will be officiating. Davon was born May 29, 1993 to Carlton and Lorraine Mosley in Bakersfield, California. He graduated from Vista P High School in Bakersfield. He also played football and later moved to Anchorage in August 2013 where he attended Nine Star Education Center. He was a member of True Vine Ministries and also worked for Toys-R-Us. His fiance quoted, "Davon was a kind, beautiful, loving son, fiance, father, brother and friend. He lived just to see the smiles on his family's face. He loved me and his children, Davon, Jr. and Davon'Tae to pieces and adored his mother." "To me he was my big headed boy. He is a kind hearted person who loved his family. They are his heart, and that is where he will always be." added his mother. Davon was preceded in death by his brother, Carlton Bruce Mosley, Jr.; and grandparents, Pete and Caroline Galan, and Mavit and Bill Mosley. He is survived by his parents; sons, Davon Mosley, Jr., and Davon'Tae Mosley of Anchorage; fiance, Vernesia Gordon and baby to be of Anchorage; mother and father-in-law, Charles (Khanesia Allen) Powell of Anchorage; brothers, Breon and Treyvon Mosley of Tehachapi, CA, D'Aire (Felicia) Dilworth, Durell (Brandi) Dilworth, Eric Lee, Jr., and Kemauri and Kemontae Taylor all of Anchorage; sister, Theresa Ferguson of Lake Isabella, CA; grandmother, Arletta Dilworth of Southfield, MI; nephew, Carlton B. (Jamisha) Mosley, III of Bakersfield, CA; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
