Brent Lewellyn Obituary

After a courageous battle with small-cell lung cancer, former Alaska resident Brent Stephen Lewellyn, 43, died peacefully April 14, 2009, at HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg, Wis. A memorial service to celebrate Brent's life was held April 18 at the Monona United Methodist Church. Interment was held at the Hillside Cemetery in Coloma, Wis., with Don Smith officiating. He was born Dec. 31, 1965, in Greensboro, N.C., the son of Jeffry and Nancy Lewellyn (Wood-Kitchen). Brent was an accomplished nail technician and worked not only in Madison for several years but then moved to Alaska and continued his profession there. He was charming, warm and loving to all and touched the hearts of everyone he came into contact with. He is survived by his mother, Nancy Lewellyn (Wood-Kitchen) of Fitchburg; his brother and sister-in-law, Todd and Cindy (Ely); nephew, Thomas; and nieces, Nicole and Bridgette from Wasilla; grandmother, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Jeffry Lynn Lewellyn. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at HospiceCare. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the Lewellyn Family, 5440 Caddis Bend, Apt. 212, Fitchburg, WI 53711. His family wrote: "When Brent was born, I'm sure you cried for joy, at the welcoming of his sweet life to this earth. And the angels in heaven cried as they said, "Goodbye for awhile" to one of their own. Now, as he returns to heaven, the angels are crying for joy to welcome him home and you cry as you say, "Goodbye for awhile" to your precious boy. Goodbye for awhile Brent. We will always love you and miss you."

Nancy,
I have searched for Brent for sometime and came accross this. My heart is sad, Brent was my best friend growing up until I had moved overseas in 1991 and I thought of him offten in my life to this day. I have such great memories of you guys. My prayers for you at this time and regret I could not locate him sooner.

Sincerely,
Valerie Driskell (formerly Padgett)

I was so saddened to read of your loss. I rememeber Brent's infectious smile, and I remember the devotion in your voice and eyes when you spoke of him. A true reflection of a mother's love. I pray you feel God's loving arms comforting you during this time.
