John Dillivan Obituary
Services will be held at Fort Richardson, May 2nd, 2013, noon. Please, arrive 15-20 minutes early for the escort. A celebration of life will be held immediately following the service at VFW. Family will scatter his ashes on the mountains above his residence and Anchor Point at a later date.
In lieu of memorial bequests, please send them to VFW Post 9785, 10527 VFW Rd., Eagle River, AK 99577.
John Dillivan Sr. served as a chef on the USS Orleck in the US Navy from April 1966 thru May 1969, where he traveled the world and served in the Vietnam War. He retired from Sunrise Bakery in 2002 and was a member of VFW post 9785, American Legion and Eagle River Elks. Dillivan loved fishing, camping at Anchor Point and traveling by motorhome to the lower 48 to visit friends and family.
John is survived by his sons, Steven Dillivan fiance to Kathryn Jacobs of Knoxville, TN, John Dillivan husband to Beth Dillivan and father to John Dillivan III of Clinton, WI, and David Dillivan husband to Andrea Dillivan and father to Alyssa Dillivan of Ooltewah, TN; daughter, Cheyenne Peterson wife to Jesse Peterson and mother of Cody and Owen Peterson of Wasilla, AK; brother, Tom Dillivan of Illinois; and sister, Glenda Sierick of Specer, IA.
He is preceded in death by his mother, father, sister Sally Ann and Edie.
