Former Anchorage Resident Betty Carrol Jensen, 85, passed away September 14, 2013 from complications of a stroke, in Seattle, Washington. Born in Modesto, California to Wavia and Clarence Rogers, she met her soulmate/husband Arthur Jensen at a dance in San Francisco, engaged after 12 hours and married 2 weeks later on her 18th birthday.

She was an avid bowler and served on both the local and state WIBC and YABA boards. Her favorite activities were spending time, and cooking for, family and friends.

In 1983 Art and Betty moved to Sitka and opened Sitka Bowling Center, a six lane bowling alley and snack bar. She loved teaching junior bowlers and chaperoning them at tournaments around Alaska.
