Palmer resident Jaquelyn "Jackie" Lee Adams, 58, died September 25, 2012, at her home.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 6 at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Palmer, AK. Burial with full military honors will take place at Ft. Richardson National Cemetery at a future date.
Jackie was born August 6, 1954, in Lansing, MI, to Vern and Arlene Wright. She graduated from Freemont High School in Freemont, MI, in 1972. She married Claude Adams on June 1, 2000.
Jackie came to Elmendorf AFB in the 1987 while serving in the U.S. Air Force as a personnel specialist. She retired in 1995 as a Master Sargent after 20 years of service to her country. After her retirement, she was employed by the State of Alaska and retired from Matanuska-Susitna Borough in 2010.
Over the years, Jackie took great pleasure in rescuing Boston Terriers and leaves 6 in the loving care of her husband. She also enjoyed hunting garage sales for special treasures and gifts.
Her family wrote: "It is a very fitting testament to Jackie's life - she was always giving and trying to please everyone around her, doing everything she could to make whomever happy; always kind, thoughtful, and considerate."
Jackie is survived by her loving husband, Claude Adams; her parents Vern and Arlene Wright; her sisters Marilyn Tucker and Carolyn Royston; and her brother David Wright.
The family requests donations be made to the
