Randy Roosdett

Randy Lee Roosdett, 55, passed away on May 14, 2013 at Providence Alaska Medical Center.

Memorial services will be held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 8427 Jewel Lake Rd, Saturday at 2:00 p.m.

Born March 21, 1958 in Deer River, MN to Rudolph and Joyce Roosdett, Randy was the youngest of four children. He graduated from Blackduck High School in 1976, and then went to study at Bemidji State University. He transferred to the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering.

While studying at UND he met Libby Fleur, and they were married on September 4, 1982. They decided to move to the great state of Alaska where they would eventually raise their four children.

Randy has held a number of different jobs, including sales and home safety engineering before finally going into business for himself as a property manager. He also took on the roles of investor and contractor.

Randy pursued his other dreams, such as running in the Primary Elections of 2008, hoping to fill Anchorage House Seat in District 29. In 2010, Randy made his big screen debut on the set of "Big Miracle" where he played an Oil Company Executive in a scene with Ted Danson.

Randy loved using his experiences and sense of humor to expand the knowledge of each person he met. He enjoyed the beauty of the Alaskan wilderness immensely, and always had fish to send to friends and family in the Lower 48. He was an avid photographer, always with a camera in his hand, a hobby which his daughters also love.

Randy is survived by his daughters Sasha and Jenna, his sons Chase and Skylar, his wife Libby; his sister Theresa Schroeder (of Washington), and his brothers Jim Graige (of Alaska) and Charles Roosdett (of Minnesota).
