Charlotte Tate-Carter Obituary

Charlotte B. Tate-Carter died in her Anchorage home Jan. 21, 2011, at the age of 82.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date with family and friends.

Charlotte was born Sept. 16, 1928 in Corona, Calif. She and then husband Bill Tate moved to Alaska in 1969 with their three children to pursue work in the Prudhoe Bay Oilfields. In 1998, prior to retiring from the Westmark Hotel, Charlotte met the love of her life, Daniel Carter. They were married the following year and have never been apart.

Charlotte enjoyed her audio books, knitting, traveling, discussing current affairs and her family.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle Alfano; and daughter-in-law, Pamela Marshall-Rogers.

Charlotte is survived by her loving husband, Daniel Carter; sister, Eunice Burns-Johnson and her husband, Marshall, of Lodi, Calif.; oldest son, Michael Humes and wife Desiree of Big Lake; son, Patrick Humes of Las Vegas, Nev.; stepson, Chad Carter and wife Dawn of Tennessee; son-in-law, Billy Patrick of Big Lake; six grandchildren and their spouses; six great-grandchildren; and loving family friend, Kathleen Ulmer.
