Liz and I are deeply saddened over Burnny's passing. Bunny was always so gracious to us "outsiders" as we worked the Fur Rondy. Liz so looked forward to visiting with Bunny in the club house as Liz did her volunteer work there. She just was so nice to both of us. To us Bunny represented the best of Alaska, as do you, John. There will be such a void for both of us when we come up there this year. -- Colonel Chuck Clarke and Elizabeth Clarke, San Luis Obispo, Californina.

Mom - we are going to miss you so much, but you are in all our hearts. I know that when I make bread you are there with my guiding me to make it the way you did. You always knew how to make everyone smile.... I know when I was down all i had to do was look at you and you could make me smile. I dedicate the song "Smile - Uncle Kracker " to you, I love you always and forever

Thank you Bunny for the encouragement you were to me to keep going with the kids mushing program. Thank you for all the hard work and time you put into all of us and encouraging all of the children to always do their best. Thank you John and Bunny for being the backbone of the club, being there to support all of us. We couldn't have done what we did without you.
We'll see you in heaven.

What a sad day for the mushing world and a great loss within each of our hearts. Bunny's warm smile will be terribly missed.

Bunny’s laugh as she sat behind her counter was part of the fabric that held ASDRA together. It is what made the Anchorage mushing community feel like a home. It will be hard to think of John without Bunny for they are prime examples to us all of living a life together as a husband and wife who give of themselves for the betterment of others. Alaska has lost a true blessing. As I sit here deployed to Dover’s Port Mortuary where our military dead are received and families come to begin their grief, I have come to understand even more the need for family, good friends, and the joys of being a part of a community, like the mushers, that is beyond our single self. I will miss Bunny’s laugh when I return home to Alaska.

John and family,

Peggy and I want express our sorrow for your loss. Peggy remembers last season when watching our grand children, sitting and talking to Bunny, remembering when our children raced and competed against one another. Bunny was a wonderful friend, and we will miss her greatly from our lives and from the sport of dog mushing where she was such a constant. With love, Norm and Peggy Hayashi

Seeing Bunny behind the counter in the ASDRA clubhouse was a major part of the race day. You could always count on her to have accurate times written down. In later years we swapped stories of our grandchildren. Bunny will be very missed and brings to an end an era of ASDRA. We love you Bunny!

We would always look to the club house as we came down the incoming chute back from a training run, and she would always wave at us. We will really miss that
