Larry King Obituary
Mr. King, the son of Evora (Morris) and William Horace King, was born on Dec. 14, 1945, in Atlanta, Ga. Mr. King was a Lieutenant with the Athens Clarke County Police Department from 1974 to 1977. In 1977, Mr. King became an Alaska resident and worked many years as a safety and compliance officer on the trans-Alaska oil pipeline.
Mr. King is survived by his son, Jeffrey (Rachel) King of Anchorage, Alaska; his sister, Marianne K. Burke; his niece, Kelly P. (Nigel) Lewis; and his grandchildren, Mila King and Ayanna King, all of Anchorage, Alaska; the mother of his son, Marjorie Ozment of Anchorage, Alaska; and his special friend, Susan Anglin of Athens, Ga.
As he wished, his cremains were scattered in Athens, Ga. A private celebration of life will be held in Anchorage, Alaska.

Larry and I worked together and were good friends. He did enjoy eating so when I was in Anchorage we generally enjoyed a breakfast or two at Demmys on Denali St.

Hired Larry as a Fire, Safety I/H Specialist for Alyeska Pipeline Service Company and later as a Health, Safety and Environment Specialist for Ahtna Construction on TAPS. Larry's job knowledge, experience and ability to communicate with people were of great value to the Trans Alaska Pipeline System safety efforts.

Very sad to hear that Larry passed away. I worked with him for many many years and have missed him the past several since he moved back to Georgia. He always had a hungry tummy, a good story to tell, and a smile. He will be missed.
