Kyle Taylor Obituary

Kyle Brennan Taylor passed away unexpectedly at home in Cantwell, Alaska, last week. Kyle was born in Anchorage, Alaska, but spent his early years living and going to school in Houston, Palmer and Valdez, Alaska, before moving back to Anchorage for 15 years. Cantwell became his home in 2013. All his life Kyle had an amazing talent at quickly acquiring skills at everything he put his mind to. Mechanics, carpentry, cooking, hunting, music and art were some of his accomplishments. He played saxophone, drums and, more recently, his guitar. He had a natural talent for realistic drawings which his friends used for their tattoos. In town Kyle was regularly spotted providing quick repairs to his old car to keep it running. Kyle could figure out how to make anything work. When Kyle was 10 years old, he won a grand prize trip for four to Disney World in a 1997 national sweepstakes contest. This past summer Kyle spent the majority of his time enjoying the wilderness around Cantwell, camping and hunting for days at a time, alone or with friends. Kyle is survived by his mother, Kellie Taylor of Cantwell; his brothers, Levi and Tony Taylor both of Anchorage; his sisters, Melissa and Faith Taylor of Anchorage and of Washington state; his grandmother, Irene Pedersen of Cantwell; his grandparents, Mick and Jean Taylor of Anchorage; and many aunts, uncles and cousins in Alaska, Washington, Arizona and Kentucky. Kyle was preceded in death by his father, Don Taylor; his grandfather, Doug Gabby; and his step-grandfather, Max Pedersen. Kyle's family and friends loved him very much and miss him dearly. Friends wishing to pay their respects and farewells are invited to drop by the Anchorage Funeral Home, 1800 Dare Avenue, in South Anchorage at the corner of Old Seward and Dare, Thursday evening, Sept. 29, 2016, between 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., for personal silent reflection or to visit with Kyle's immediate family. Kyle's memorial service will be held in Cantwell on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016, at 1 p.m. at the Community Hall. The community and all Kyle's friends are very welcomed to attend.
