Agnes Dalton Johnson, 90, a lifelong Alaska resident, went to be with our Lord on Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
She was born on July 19, 1927, in the Tlingit village of Klawock, Alaska, to Maxfield and Mary (Bean) Dalton. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Clarence, Edward and Nick; sister, Dorothy (Dalton) Parish; and her sons, Woody Johnson, Elmer Johnson and Kenneth Johnson. Agnes was the last sibling of her Dalton family.
Agnes retired after working 20 years with the Elmendorf Air Force Base Commissary. After she retired, she actually went to college and earned two associate degrees, one in art and one in cooking.
Agnes loved to go to bingo with her son, Elmer, and she had a smile for everyone that she met.
Agnes was a participant in the Southcentral Foundation Elder Program. She loved to socialize with other Elders, take field trips and do their projects they created for day activities.
Agnes is survived by her children: Elizabeth Terry, Bernard Johnson, Mark Johnson, Diane (Johnson) Tigges and Michael A. Johnson.
