Alvin John Nelson, 27, passed away on September 29, 2013 at his home in Anchorage, Alaska. He was born on June 15, 1986 in Kodiak, Alaska.

Alvin was a commercial fisherman and he fished with his cousin, Tommy Nelson. He also roofed for Wicker Roofing with both brothers, Adam and Duane. At one point, Alvin also worked for Applebees and Subway.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowboarding, football, and video games with friends and family. Alvin loved family get togethers, barbecues, and music.
His remains will be scattered in Kodiak, Alaska in the summer.
Alvin is survived by his mother, Jodi K. McDonald (Nelson); stepfather, Michael F. McDonald; brothers, Adam E. Gottschalk and Duane G. Nelson; niece, Denique Lee Nelson; grandfather, Nick Nelson Sr.; uncles, Nick Nelson Jr. and Marvin Nelson; aunts, Shirley Chihuly and Diane Cooper; cousins, Jennifer and Matthew Cooper, John Chihuly, and Michelle I. Theresa; and many more cousins and friends; including step-father, Alvin Gottchalk; aunts, Leona and Lola, and uncle Jay.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Alice Nelson; grandfather, Alfred Nelson Sr.; aunts, Carol Joyce and Elaine; and many other loved ones. Alvin is in their loving arms with our heavenly father.
