Andrew Jason Behm passed away peacefully in Seattle, Wash., after an eight month battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia on Jan. 25, 2018. He was 34 years old.
Andrew was born in Punxsutawney, Pa., on Nov. 17, 1983. He was the third son to Wade and Roberta Behm.
Andrew grew up in Wasilla, Alaska, where he loved playing in the forest, sledding down the most dangerous hills he could find and doing it with no fear, riding his bike through the biggest puddle and just having fun. Andy, as he liked to be called, found himself becoming a father on Sept. 23, 2009, to a handsome young boy. He later married that girl, Christina Campbell, on June 21, 2014, and they had themselves a beautiful daughter on March 12, 2014. He was a nurturing father and an admirable husband, a true friend to anybody he met. His contagious laugh and sense of humor will be remembered by all that knew him.
Andy graduated from Burchell High School and off to the work force he went: bagging groceries at Carrs Quality Center, a cook at Burger King, a laborer for Sapp Construction, a farm hand at the Boyd's Farm and then a produce worker at 3 Bears, Alaska. No matter the work in front of him, he worked with pride and dignity. No job was to dirty or to low for him. In his adult years Andy loved singing karaoke, spending time with his family and giving himself to the Lord. He was the first to give a helping hand, never shying away from helping one in need.
Andrew is preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Lois Smith; and grandfather, Clyde Behm of Pennsylvania. He is survived by his wife, Christina Behm; son, Colin Behm; and daughter, Zoey Behm; his grandmother, Rose Behm of Pennsylvania; father and mother, Wade and Roberta Behm of Wasilla; siblings, Michael Behm, Eric Behm and wife Tracy, and Joseph Behm and wife Britany; sisters, Beckie Behm and Kimberley Behm; his nephews, Matthew and Lee; and niece, Evelyn; and extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on March 3, 2018, from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. at United Protestant Church, 713 South Denali Street in Palmer, Alaska.
