Andrew "Andy" Felix Paule was born on Aug. 27, 1956, in Wenatchee, Wash., to Elmer and Louise Paule. He passed away on March 4, 2016, surrounded by his family. He commercial fished in Bristol Bay during high school and served three years in the Army after graduation, before returning to Alaska. He loved the outdoors and spent many years on the Mulchatna River as a trapper and big game guide before moving back to Iliamna, and more recently to Kenai, Alaska, to work in construction. Andy will be remembered for being a loving husband and father, wonderful son and the best brother ever to six siblings. His infectious smile and the mischievous twinkle in his eyes only lead to his heart of gold! He was very skillful and talented and would help anyone with any kind of project. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener and a great cook. He made life fun and we all enjoyed his humorous stories and poems. Andy blazed his own trails whether on dog sled, snow machine or just having fun in life. Everyone that knew Andy has been left with many great memories. Andy leaves behind his wife, Joni and son, David of Kenai, Alaska; mother, Louise Buchert of Iliamna, Alaska; brothers, Lane (Becky) Paule of Anchorage, Alaska, and Joel (Carolyn) Paule of Wenatchee, Wash.; sisters, Carroll (Alan) Terwilleger of Roanoke, Va., Nancy (Tim) La Porte of Iliamna, Susan Tussey of Wenatchee, Wash., and Jane (Gary) Bromiley of Anchorage; along with many nieces and nephews. His father, Elmer Paule, preceded him in death. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements were with Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
