Angela Coyne Reavis, 53, of Wasilla, Alaska, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018, at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center of cancer. A celebration of her life will be held at Redington Jr./Sr. School, 10015 Redington Road in Wasilla, on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018, from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Ed Reavis, who was her eternal best friend, love of her life and devoted caregiver. During her illness, Ed never left her side and the care he rendered was a loving testimony to their union. She is also survived by her daughter, Delaney. Delaney brought the gift of motherhood to Angie's life and it was her greatest joy.
Survivors include her parents, Robert and Patsy Coyne; and brothers Cleve, Wesley and O'Neal Coyne. Angie was preceded in death by her brothers, Andy and Keith Coyne. Her ashes will be joined with theirs in Louisiana, at her request.
Angie is also survived by sons, Nathan, Jeremy and Edward Jr.; and daughter, Heather; along with nine granddaughters; one grandson; and many former students.
Angie was born in Covington, La. on Jan. 4, 1965, and moved to Alaska when she was 3 years old. She leaves an extended Louisiana family who loves and misses her deeply.
Angie spent her summers and winter breaks at their ranch in Utopia, Texas. She loved spending time at the ranch and with her Texas family. She would often be found swimming in the creek on hot summer days with Delaney and her grandchildren. She was cared for late in her illness by her sister-in-law, Nora Dodge, with love and compassion.
Angie's greatest gift was her passion and talent for educating children. Countless families and students have been positively impacted by her teaching and coaching skills, as well as her genuine love for what she did. Every student who was one of "Mrs. Reavis' kids" felt lucky indeed.
In lieu of flowers, you may contribute to the Delaney Reavis College Fund at Wells Fargo Bank, Wasilla, AK. Acct # 2100222336.
Today our hearts are breaking as we say farewell to this beautiful soul. Our comfort is that she is now pain-free and enjoying a reunion with her brothers she so dearly missed. She didn't want to leave us and she will always be near, as long as we remember her giving heart, her superstar smile and the love she so freely gave.
