Anna was born in Munich, Germany on June 19, 1927, to Felix Vogel and Anna Thaler. Anna came to the United States post World War II with her late husband Lawrence Cote'. Lawrence and Anna met at a dance in Munich during the time Lawrence was stationed there as a private in the U.S. Army. The two started their life together living in North Adams, Mass., where Lawrence was born. In 1963, Anna and Lawrence moved to Alaska with their two boys, Wayne and Steven. Lawrence and Anna fell in love with the state and called Alaska home until each passed in 1995 and 2017 respectively. Anna, a beautician by profession, opened up her own beauty salon in Anchorage and eventually a second location. Not only was Anna a successful salon owner, but also committed to the craft. Anna judged hair and beauty competitions throughout the city. Anna was a very outgoing person with a quick smile and a thick German accent. Anna never backed away from a challenge, whether it was moose or caribou hunting in Alaska's interior, to clam digging and fishing in Homer and the Little Su. Anna's other activities included downhill skiing. A passion she shared with both of her boys while teaching them to ski at Arctic Valley.

Anna loved the mountains. It was this love that brought Anna and Lawrence to purchase property and build a cabin in Eureka with a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. Anna and Lawrence explored the Eureka area riding snowmachines in the winter, 4-wheeling and gold panning in the summer. Anna is survived by her sons, Wayne Cote' and Steven Cote'; daughter in-law, Sharon Athas Cote'; and her grandson, Tanner Cote', and his wife, Kelsey, and great granddaughter, Kayden; her granddaughter, Rhonda Cote'; her niece, Eva Lauchner of Munich, Germany; and her best friend of 35 years, Julia Augustine.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2017 , 1:00 PM at Fox Hollow Chalet 11701 Brayton Drive, Anchorage, Alaska.
