Anthony Jerome Rogers was born on April 17, 1957, to Mr. and Mrs. Arthur and Stella Rogers Jr. Anthony "Tony" is the second child and only boy. Tony accepted Christ at an early age. Throughout his early childhood he lived on numerous air force bases, both foreign and domestic. The Rogers family arrived at Elmendorf Air Force Base in August 1974. Tony discovered his love for animals in his early teens and began training and showing prize-winning dogs and horses. This hobby allowed him time to teach his niece, Brea Walker, how to ride in equestrian shows. Additionally, Tony continued to help the family business, Mom's Kitchen, which originated from the Juneteenth celebration. Tony is survived by his parents, Arthur and Stella Rogers Jr.; his oldest sister, Shirley Rogers; her children, Brian Jones and Jewel Robinson of Anchorage, Alaska; Enetta Walker and her children, Clintone Walker, Arthur Walker and Brea Walker, all from Anchorage; Felisha Rogers, Dominick Jerome Rogers and Don Wise III of Orlando, Fla.; Aunt Ora and Uncle George of Benbrook, Texas; Aunt Bettye and Uncle Jesse of Palestine, Texas; and Aunt Johnnie Rose Rogers of Portland, Ore. Tony will be missed by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; and his oldest and dearest friends, Sam Walker and Diane Delaney of Anchorage. We thank everyone for their prayers and kind words. Services will be held on Sept. 14, 2016, at Shiloh Baptist Church. A Viewing will be held from 12:30 p.m. - 2 p.m., with service starting at 2 p.m. The family will host a fellowship immediately following the service at VFW Post 9978 located on Oklahoma Street in Anchorage.Tony's burial will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, in Elk, Texas.
