Betty Lou Cunningham, 93, an Alaska pioneer, died in Prescott, Ariz., on Jan. 7, 2018.
She was predeceased by her husband, William D. in 2000; and son, Michael in 1997. She is survived by her two sons, Jerry and Curtis; her grandchildren, Tiffany, Chance, Dustin, Zoe and Zacharia; and her great-grandchildren, Tiana and Lily.
She and Bill came to Anchorage in 1948 from Oklahoma, where Betty worked in an aircraft factory during the war. They eventually started Alaska Air Guides on Lake Hood, sold the business and retired in 1973. They then enjoyed life, living between Anchorage, Maui, Hawaii, and then Oregon and Palm Springs, Calif.
She was a kind, loving person and made friends wherever she went. She loved her family, friends, animals and Fox news and was beloved by all.
