Betty Adams, 62, of McCarthy, Alaska, passed away on June 1, 2016, after a courageous five year battle with breast cancer. She was cared for by her family and friends and surrounded by love and support until the end. Betty grew up in Eagle River, Alaska, graduated from Chugiak High School and spent her adulthood exploring and pursuing adventure. Betty focused the last 18 years on homeschooling and raising her son, Kaylin, at her home in McCarthy with her longtime partner, Lane Moffitt. No public service services were planned, but a private viewing for immediate family was held. Betty touched many lives during her time and will be missed by her large extended family and many friends. Those closest to her will remember her love of the bush lifestyle, her capacity for caring and love for others, her many talents hidden under a modest exterior and her ability to laugh until she cried with anyone willing to join. Betty is survived by her son, Kaylin Moffitt; longtime partner, Lane Moffitt, both of McCarthy; brothers, Claude (Retha) Adams of Arizona, John (Lynn) Adams of McCarthy and Frank (Anna) Adams; and sister, Mary (Douglas) Wilber, both of Wasilla, Alaska; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank J. and Daniela Adams; brother, Patrick Adams; and three nephews. Arrangements were made by Legacy Wasilla Heritage Chapel, Wasilla.
