Billy Andrew McDonald, 21, died Feb. 26, 2010, in Anchorage.

His family said that he "left us unexpectedly."

A celebration in memory of Billy will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at ChangePoint Church. A reception will be immediately afterward at the church.

He was born Sept. 18, 1988, in Santa Fe, N.M.

His family wrote: "Billy was a 2007 graduate of Dimond High School and served in the Army National Guard. Billy had many loves, including his job at Moore & Sons Automotive, boxing, mixed martial arts, GTL, camping, and spending time with his friends and family. Billy also enjoyed fishing, hiking, shooting, snowboard, skateboarding and jamming with his brother on the guitar.

"Billy's smile, laughter and genuine character will be greatly missed."

His family added that he is much loved and that life won't be the same without him.

He is survived by his mother, Jennifer McDonald; father, Randy Chavez; brother, Brian Chavez; grandparents, Veronica and Stanley Hendricks and Lorenzo and Cecilia Chavez; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
