Carolyn Louree (Weaver) Ryan, age 72, died peacefully at home in Wasilla, Alaska, on November 6, 2016, after a long struggle with brain cancer. She was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Todd Ryan, a daughter, Danah Day Ryan, her mother and father, Julius and Annell (Watts) Weaver of Century, FL. She is survived by her loving husband, Dan, of 54 years, a son, Jason Walker Ryan (Leanne), a granddaughter, Taylor Ryan, a grandson, Walker Ryan, of Wasilla, a brother, Charles Weaver (Sandra) of Nixa, Missouri, two sisters, Shirley (Weaver) DiConcilio of Tallahassee, FL, and Joe Ann (Weaver) Banks, of Eight Mile, AL, two nieces, Tracy (DiConcilio) Canter of Tallahassee, FL and Tammy (Banks) Chilton of Mobile, AL, four nephews, Brandon and Dillon Chilton of Silverhill, AL, and Bryan and Darrin Weaver of Missouri.

Carol and her family moved to Alaska from Colorado in 1973 and soon adopted Wasilla as their permanent home. Carol was involved in her community and in many church functions and was also a member of the Valley Republican Women.
Carol's passion was her family but she also loved gardening, especially her flowers. She was a master seamstress and an unrivaled gourmet cook. She had so many wonderful and cherished friends here and in her hometown of Whistler, AL.
Carol Ryan was one in a million. She had a profound effect on so many people and was loved and respected by all who knew her. She will surely be missed.
Interment will be at Wasilla cemetery for family and close friends. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday November 12, 2016, at Wasilla Bible Church.
