Carolyne Ruby Korman, 84, passed away on Sept. 4, 2017, at her home in Anchorage, Alaska, surrounded by her family.
Carolyne was born on Dec., 19, 1932, in Willow City, N.D., where she graduated from high school. She moved to Anchorage in 1958. She worked for Chester Valley Elementary as an aid for three years and at St. Mark's Preschool, from where she retired after 25 years. Carolyne was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and was involved with the Girl Scouts of America, Pioneers of Alaska Senior Center, AMVETS Post # 2 Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion and Sons of Norway. She volunteered at Brother Francis Shelter, providing sandwiches. Carolyne enjoyed fishing, camping, clam digging, baking and bowling.
Carolyne is survived by her daughters, Deborah (Ron) Jones, Nancy (Rex) Lindquist and Crystal Roberts; grandchildren, Ryan(Shawna) Jones, Tanya Lindquist, Rodney (Rae-Ann)Jones, Alex Lindquist, Michael (Holly) Himler and Kevin Lindquist; great-grandchildren, Rylon, Addy, Ava and Ryker Jones, Romney Jones and Owen and Greta Himler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Earl Korman.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, at 12:30 p.m., at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 3230 Lake Otis Parkway in Anchorage. Rev. Carol George will be officiating. Pallbearers are: Ryan Jones, Tanya Lindquist, Rodney Jones, Alex Lindquist, Michael Himler and Kevin Lindquist. A reception will be held after the funeral. Burial will take place on Monday, Sept. 18, 2017, at 10 a.m., at Fort Richardson National Cemetery.

Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She touched many lives and was an inspiration.
