Charles Erwin Martin (1936 - 2017) headed out for his happy hunting grounds on Sept. 18, 2017. He leaves behind his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Amalia; his three children, Dennis, Kevin and Marisa; 12 rambunctious grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He joins his son, David, and granddaughter, Natasha, for a glorious hike in God's country.
He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force at 19 years old. While stationed in Puerto Rico, he met the love of his life, Amalia. Charles and Amalia left the east coast for California in 1963. By 1973, he moved his family to Anchorage, Alaska, where he was stationed at Elmendorf Air Force and retired in 1978. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and passionate military historian. Happy hunting Chuck!
