Craig Philip Girardin, 19, died on Feb. 19, 2015, at home in Anchorage, Alaska. Memorial service will be at 4 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 2015, at Legacy Funeral Homes Bragaw Chapel, located at 1707 S Bragaw Street in Anchorage. Craig was born on Sept. 28, 1995, in Kotzebue, Alaska. He was still working on getting his high school diploma and attaining his Welding Certification at the King Career Center. Throughout his life he lived in Ambler, Selawik, Kotzebue, Noorvik and Anchorage, Alaska. He was a full-time student and working any jobs he could; shoveling, lumber and more. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snow machining, welding, hockey, shooting, four-wheeling and bike riding. Born and raised in Alaska, Craig was a strong, independent young man. He was very helpful to people in need. Craig was family to all, he treated people with respect and in return they gave him the respect he deserved. He earned the right to be the young man he was. Craig always put family first. He gave the best advice he could give, from sarcastic replies, to life altering conversations. He protected what he believed in. Craig was an uprising spirit to family and friends. He strongly believed in the success of his family. Craig was a quiet, but strong young man and we were all blessed to meet and get to know him. He is survived by his grandpa, Philip J. Girardin Jr.; sisters, Dora Henry and Mary P. Girardin; little brother, Philip W. Girardin; stepmom, Martha VanDyke; mother, Sandra S. Henry; and many aunts; uncles; cousins; nieces; and nephews; and all the friends he had made were also his family. Arrangements entrusted to Legacy Witzleben Funeral Home.
